Libyan Oil

Oil was discovered in Libya in commercial quantities in 1959 and exports of Libyan crude began two years later.

The main destination for these supplies of oil is Western Europe, where Libya is the second largest supplier to the European Community. The Oil Sector employs a workforce of 35.000 in the areas of production, processing, distribution and in service companies.

The development of a wide variety of educational and training programs continues to be a major priority, in addition to the improvement of living and working conditions, promoting greater efficiency and productivity.
